Jonathan Schauder

As a registered psychologist and experienced facilitator, mediator and executive coach, Jonathan Schauder is one of Melbourne’s acknowledged experts in high performance strategy, collaboration, change, engagement and culture building.
With more than twenty years of experience working closely with a full range of family, community, health, education, major infrastructure, corporate and government clients, Jonathan has contributed to the growing movement focused on the importance of exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, ethical negotiation, and conflict resolution. Jonny’s specialty is to build high performance relationships between groups and teams and to assist individuals to achieve their work and personal aspirations.
He has published four books: “In-Spire”: vision driven leadership; “The Language of Leadership”: understanding strategy and engagement; and “Moments of Meaning”: the competencies of communication for leaders. “Creating Cultures”: High performance explained. His fifth book, “Stress Intelligence”, on stress and time management will be released in 2019.
He was the leadership and culture coach on the renowned Deer Park Bypass One-Team initiative. This project broke new ground in collaboration recognised by receiving the “Best Project Leadership” Award in 2009 from the AIPM. Jonny is a leading leadership and culture coach for many CEOs in Victoria; and has coached the M80 upgrade, Regional Rail packages E and B and the Melbourne Water Resources Alliance, Southern Rural Water and many other major projects and high performing leadership teams. His high performance work with Monash College has been recognised by AHRI and his NSW LTJV, collaboration was recognised in the NSW Premier’s Awards.
During and since his eleven years as a Senior Consultant at CMA he trained well over 40,000 people from Australia’s most well known organisations in leadership, principled negotiation skills, conflict resolution, communication and relationship management. He has spent hundreds of hours mediating and consulting on partnership and community disputes and complaints, feedback systems, leadership competencies and conflict management process improvement.
Jonathan was elected to the position of Chairman of the Family Mediation Centre from 2000 – 2002. He has lectured within the MBA program at Monash Business School, Monash University’s School of Economics and Commerce, and the Monash Law School in both undergraduate and postgraduate negotiation and mediation subjects.
In 1998 he assisted Professor Roger Fisher (co-author of “Getting to Yes”) at Harvard University Law School to present the International Program on Negotiation. And in 1999, Jonny completed advanced facilitation training with Folger and Bush.
In recognition of his expertise, leadership and management skills Jonathan was elected to the Board of LEADR, one of Australia’s key mediation bodies. He has 5 children and lives in Melbourne.
