Getting To Yes

Create value, improve outcomes & overcome difficulty in negotiation

Workshop Overview

Our two-day or half day intake, Getting To Yes program develops the core concepts and skills that underpin principled, interest-based negotiation. This workshop empowers participants to skilfully manage any negotiation, no matter how challenging. They will learn how to create value, prepare for upcoming negotiations, communicate effectively, and deal with difficult behaviours.

We show participants how to maintain a value-generating approach, even when counterparts are behaving competitively. We provide them with the tools necessary to increase their confidence, manage those difficult moments, and improve their outcomes.

Customisable to suit participants at any level of experience, this workshop will enable your team or organisation to:

  • Strategically create higher-value outcomes, both in terms of the substance and the relationship.
  • Establish a “common language” for preparing for negotiations together.
  • Reduce time and energy wasted on stalemate and conflict with clients and customers.
  • Develop confidence and an increased willingness to “stay at the table” when negotiations become difficult.
  • Strengthen key working relationships by resisting demands, threats or other damaging behaviours, without escalating conflict.
  • Enhance your brand and reputation as a fair, collaborative and commercially savvy organisation.

To enhance the implementation of the skills learned, CMA workshops include the following:

  • A pre-workshop survey.
  • Planning templates.
  • Post-workshop commitment sheets to remind of their learning.
  • Fortnightly emails to remind participants of the theory.
  • Access to CMA’s Alumni website.
  • 12-month access to CMA’s e-coaching hotline.
