The Harvard Connection

Founded in 1983, the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School is a pioneer in the fields of negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.
In commemoration of the program’s 30th anniversary this year, the Program on Negotiation is proud to present a video describing many of PON’s various educational and research activities.

CMA Consulting Group and Harvard University

CMA Consulting Group is proud to have long-standing connections with elite academic institutions across Australia and the United States. Most notable among these is our relationship with Harvard University.

Harvard University’s Program on Negotiation (PON) is a collaboration between Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tufts University, with the goal of furthering the theory and practise of negotiation and problem-solving in the field of conflict resolution. The books and materials created by scholars affiliated with PON have during the last 35 years transformed the way millions of people think about and address professional and personal differences.

In 1993, CMA Consulting Group was founded by Eliezer Kornhauser with the assistance of late PON co-founder Professor Roger Fisher, and current Harvard Lecturers Pro

fessors Doug Stone and Sheila Heen. The theories and books developed by these international experts, including Getting to Yes, Difficult Conversations, and Thanks for the Feedback, among others, serve as the foundation for our dynamic learning programs.

CMA Consulting Group’s pedagogy is also sourced from PON’s best practises. We base our facilitative instruction style on the belief that participants learn by doing, as opposed to merely being told what to learn. By following the Harvard method of experiential learning exercises, participants leave with increased self-awareness, and the skills to match.

Our programs deliver Harvard’s powerful content for thinking and behaving more effectively in negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution. CMA’s connection with Harvard provides the basis for the outstanding quality of our programs and gives us a depth of understanding in teaching the Harvard frameworks that is unrivaled in Asia Pacific.
